Stop Visiting Ad-whore Article Thieves

There's a new plague on social media of websites that steal the content of original producers - like Fox News, Politico and others, and paste several paragraphs of popular articles on their webpages, surround them with ads (to the point of slow-loading basic text pages) and add a line or two of "analysis" - often something like "This is an amazing story."

They often look something like this:

There should probably be a joke ad here, too.
This is not Fair Use of the material - they're simply re-hosting it to generate revenue for themselves. Why do I care?

1) The promoters of these websites use multiple fake accounts and spam tactics to promote their websites.

2) These ads often auto-play audio, which is annoying.

3) Each page is often 80%+ ads and branding, and less than 20% content. It's like if you read a book, and 4 out of every 5 pages were ads. (Despite having original content, the Giles family is incredibly guilty of this)

4) It draws readers away from the producers of the content with contributing anything new. That's parasitic and deprives the actual creators of ad revenue.

5) Re-hosting material for the purposes of commentary is Fair Use. Re-hosting material for the purposes of generating ad revenue is not.

6) It's unjust to profit from someone else's work.

Stop visiting these sites, report them as spam when you see them, and support the creators of the work they steal, rather than the thieves who steal it.
